Tell the story

Sometimes, when shooting for a club or event, the most important consideration is how the editor of the publication will consider the photo in conjunction with the story about the event.

In this case the picture takes a supportive role to the writing and editing team. The essential aspect of the picture is found in the cutline or story surrounding the picture. Sometimes the photo will be candid, and sometimes posed. But in either case it must be taken with the purpose of helping the writers tell the story about what happened at the event.
